The species maps show how widespread our trapping has been so far, and the homepage describes in broad-brush terms were effort has been strong or weak.
The maps below puts this graphically.
It can be readily seen from the map that some individual sites have received a great deal of attention, while the majority fall into the 1-25 species only category. Many of these lesser sites are shown on the strength of one or two diurnal species, or at best, a single Heath trap catch. Almost any site in the categories from 25 species upwards is of some interest. The best of these are listed on the Site Details page, with the most relevant four-figure grid reference.
