Moth trapping can yield useful results from as early as late February, and as late as the end of October, but most field work will be done between May and September, inclusive. Spring visits focus on wet woodlands, with willows and poplars. In early summer we tend to concentrate on dry woodlands, and in high summer and early autumn on coastal grasslands and bogs.

but mainly up to mid July.
B = From late
June to end of November
The sites are grouped in the season
of main interest and then according to habitat.
Please note that most of these
sites are in multiple private ownership, and it is important to get permission
from the owner to trap in them. Although not obligatory, it is sensible to
site traps in locations where they will not be seen, or else to alert the
occupants of any overlooking houses.
